Produce Clerk
Duties:
- Receive, inspect, and stock produce items in an organized manner
- Ensure the quality and freshness of all produce products
- Rotate and remove any expired or damaged items from the shelves
- Assist customers in selecting and bagging produce items
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions and addressing concerns
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the produce department
- Operate equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts to move and transport produce items
- Perform retail math calculations for pricing and inventory purposes
- Operate cash registers for customer transactions
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and team members
- Ability to maintain a clean and sanitary work environment
- Strong customer service skills to assist customers with their needs
- Knowledge of warehouse operations for proper handling of produce items
- Ability to lift heavy objects, including cases of produce, up to 50 pounds
- Experience operating pallet jacks and forklifts is a plus
- Proficiency in retail math calculations for pricing and inventory management
- Familiarity with cash register operations for accurate transactions
- Ability to load and unload deliveries efficiently
