Education: Bachelor’s degree in education, Mathematics, or related area required; Master’s degree preferred
Licenses/Certificates: Must hold or be eligible for Georgia certification. Leadership Certification preferred.
Experience: Minimum of three years successful classroom teaching experience required in Mathematics; supervisory experience preferred. Prior experience with standards-based instruction, teaching of Mathematics, and professional staff development required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The 6-12 Mathematics Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Executive Director of Academic Achievement in the development and implementation of effective standards-based Mathematics instruction in all schools, appropriate and balanced assessment, technology integration, and standards-based grading and reporting.

Major Responsibilities
- Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
- Responsible for developing, planning, managing, supporting, organizing, and implementing 6-12 Mathematics programming throughout the district.
- Provides leadership for District-wide initiatives for Mathematics programs.
- Provides direction and leadership for the overall administration and coordination of 6-12 Mathematics programs in support of effective instructional practices, communication and operational efficiency.
- Assists with the procurement of appropriate instructional resources using district approved processes and accounts for expenditures.
- Generates resources and tools to support teachers with differentiation strategies to meet all students’ needs in Mathematics.
- Assists schools in determining the level of implementation of standards-based instructional best practices and standards-based assessment and grading.
- Works in collaboration with Instructional Coaches, other departments, and areas to maximize teacher effectiveness as it relates to the curriculum, instruction, assessment, and use of instructional technology.
- Collaborates with leadership in Academic Achievement in development and integration of and revisions to new curriculum.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Ability to produce and lead work with a high degree of efficiency.
- Detailed knowledge and experience with standards-based instruction, instructional technology, and assessment best practices.
- Experience with curriculum development.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver training to adult learners across multiple levels.
