Position/Title: Nurse/Medical Assistant

Reports to: Clinical Manager/Office Manager/Administrator

Job Status: Full-time eligible for paid time off (PTO), 401k and medical benefits/Part-time is ineligible for any benefits

Job Description: The Clinical Nursing Assistant position is responsible for patients’ initial triage, assisting the physician and clinical manager. A kind, cordial, and helpful attitude is always expected. Knowledge of clinical compliance, HIPPA compliance, efficiency and attention to detail is required. Confidentiality is an essential part of this duty.

Essential Responsibilities/Job Summary

- Initial clinical intake and rooming of patient and family

- Triage of patient o Obtain chief complaint o Obtain vital signs

- Document of above in electronic medical record

- Execute physician orders o Laboratory testing

- Obtaining appropriate specimens (including phlebotomy)

- Ensuring specimens are handled accordingly (appropriate labeling, temperature handling, submission to laboratory companies and/or courier)

- Appropriate and complete documentation on laboratory requisition forms o Administer medications and/or vaccinations according to universally accepted practices
- Documenting administrations in the electronic medical record

- Responsible for maintaining and submitting order of additional clinical supplies needed to the clinical manager

- Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and readiness

- Review telephone encounters prior to the physician’s final review

- Review patient lab reports with the physician and follow up with patients

- Answer phone calls with a kind and respectful attitude

- Ensure all the patient's questions and needs are met prior to leaving the office

- Duties as assigned

Required Skills and Qualifications:

- Previous medical office experience, one year minimum required

- Bilingual (English and Spanish)

Position Description and Requirements

- Computer knowledgeable, such as typing, scanning, Microsoft office programs

- Experience with EMR

- Interpersonal Skills: Relates well to all kinds of people, uses diplomacy and tact. Maintains a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that enables rapport with patients, co-workers and supervisors

- Results Oriented: Will meet goals successfully. Is organized at the highest standards for work output.

Adheres to schedule and will be consistently on time.

- Detail oriented and organized

- Courteous, Optimistic and customer service driven

- HIPPA compliance

Physical factors: Stationary position for 25% of scheduled hours. May be required to lift supplies up to 20 lbs.

Working Conditions: Requi red to work at least eight (8) hours per shift. Working after hours may be required according to business needs.

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
