We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to undertake all aspects of church accounting and financial management including corporate and managerial accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as oversight and maintenance of internal control policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
Manage all accounting operations including A/R, A/P, GL, non-profit fund accounting, cost accounting, inventory accounting and revenue recognition.
- Manage banking and financial accounts.
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and report variances.
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
- Manage an expedient month-end and year-end close process.
- Oversee quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Manage compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
Qualifications:
- 7 years of experience in church or corporate accounting and finance including controllership duties and responsibilities.
- Strong experience with accounting software, systems and internal controls.
- Supervisory experience managing a team including A/P and A/R.
- Bachelor’s degree; CPA or CMA preferred.
- Knowledge of non-profit accounting principles and procedures preferred.
- Must have U.S. work authorization without employer sponsorship and complete a background and credit check.
