Job Description
Marino is currently seeking driven, detail-oriented and creative interns to participate in our fall 2022 internship program, with the option to work in person in our New York City office or to complete the program remotely as a virtual intern. As a Marino intern, you’ll be part of a dynamic team of communications professionals and gain extensive experience in the fast-paced world of strategic communications.
Marino interns will be mentored by designated supervisors, perform a variety of communications functions and work in a broad range of markets.
By the Numbers:
- Duration: 12 weeks (mid-September – early December 2022)
- Hours: 24 hours/week (days and hours are flexible depending on intern’s academic schedule)
- Pay: Yes
Criteria for Applicants:
- Current junior or senior in a communications-related degree program
- Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Excellent writing, research and communications skills
- Strong work ethic and a desire to learn and be proactive
- Knowledge of the media industry, including print, broadcast, and digital/social media
Applicant Bonus Points:
- Prior internship in public relations, communications and/or digital/social media
- Experience with Cision and/or Sprout Social
- Baseline knowledge of one or more Marino client markets
Responsibilities:
- Assist with writing and distributing press materials, including press releases, pitches and client fact sheets
- Work with senior team members on managing and organizing day-to-day client responsibilities and tasks – this includes (but is not limited to) preparing status and activity reports, tracking meetings and conference calls, scheduling and logistics
- Contribute to the creation of client account plans
- Track and vet editorial calendars for client opportunities
- Build and maintain media lists
- Monitor client press coverage and, when necessary, create clip reports
- Assist with social media content creation and community engagement
- Assist with office and administrative duties
- Actively play a part in fostering teamwork and collaboration at Marino
