Position Overview:
The Director of Teen and Youth Development has the primary responsibility for the overall organization, administration, development, supervision, and implementation of the Y’s Teen programs and fostering relationships with the local middle/high schools & other community organizations.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for organization, administration, development, supervision, and implementation of the Y’s teen programs and fostering relationships with local middle/high schools & other community organizations.
- Responsible for the overall guidance and programming under the supervision of the CEO.
- Support surrounding communities by providing guidance, programming, and mentorship to young people.
- Deliver quality weekly programming and ensure that programs meet expectations; provide necessary information and statistics for reporting.
- Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate all YMCA Teen programs which must include, but are not limited to Teen Leaders Club, Youth & Government, and Leaders in Training Camp.
- Establish and maintain relationships with local middle and high schools in the service area to help recruit and retain teens, provide collaboration, and meet the needs of each individual community.
- Represent and promote Y programs in the community and at events. Serves on a least one community-based committee to ensure the YMCA is viewed as a leader in serving teens.
- Manages the Mentoring program. Ensures quality matches of mentors and mentees; works with partners to recruit, screen, train, and supervise volunteer mentors.
- Manages any grant funds for programs.
- Maintain accurate financial and other records as requested by the CEO.
- Work two Relationship Manager positions a week.
Requirements
Position Requirements: The position requires a person with at least a bachelor’s degree in social work, education, or a related field; or two or more years of experience working with teens. Incumbent must have leadership experience and an ability to develop relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds as well as relationships with collaborative partners.
Must have and maintain CPR and First Aid certification; or obtain within 90 days of hire. Must have a valid Ohio Driver’s license and meet all YMCA driver requirements.
Position Status & Information:
- Full-time exempt 40 hours per week.

Salary : $41,600 - $52,000
