Job Summary |
This position is responsible for processing all hospital and physician practices telephone and written correspondence regarding chart request by hospital employees, physicians, patients, insurance companies, Disability, CMS, RAC, HEDIS insurance audits, attorneys, and regulatory agencies. Responsible for staying up to date on HIPPA Rules and Federal Laws regarding Release of Information. Services as liaison between the Health Information Management Department and other hospital departments, physician's, patients, and other external customers. This position is responsible for retrieving, prepping, scanning and analyzing medical records for completion. Answers telephone calls and emails for medical record requests for continued patient care. Quality reviews of scanned documents. Responsible for My Patient Portal and ECW Portal requests, enrollment, trouble shooting and implementing upgrades and encouraging patient enrollment. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements |
- High school graduate or its equivalent.
- Minimum of six months medical/business office experience.
Preferred Job Requirements |
- Release of Information knowledge and business / clerical office experience.
- Electronic Medical Record and Meditech Experience.
