Role Overview:

Under the direction of the Accounting Manager, the Accounting Clerk will be responsible for providing accounting support to key functional areas within the accounting department. This position will assist the accounting staff with daily accounting, reporting and analysis of financial activity associated with all Marmon Utility facilities. Our ideal candidate is highly meticulous and delivers thorough and accurate work in a timely manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assists with research, filing, data entry, and recording and maintaining accurate and complete financial records
• Daily cash application
• Processing of all daily billings for three facilities
• Assist A/R Accountant where needed:
  • Annual Credit Review
  • New Customer Credit Check
  • Customer Maintenance
  • Collections
  • Commissions
  • Reconciliations
• Process vendor invoices ensuring that each invoice is an accurate reflection of Hendrix and Kerite financial obligation to the vendor in terms of quantity, and cost of all materials received
• Assist in processing of weekly check disbursements by assembling the invoices for payment
• Record daily vendor payables and cash payment transactions in the ERP system ensuring all required follow up actions are completed on a timely basis
• Participate in month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliation of accounts, and other accounting duties in a timely manner
• Assist with ad-hoc projects as they arise

Qualifications:

• Understanding of accounting and financial principles
• A working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and the ability to comprehend additional software as needed to support the financial reporting and daily operations of the Accounting Department
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• High level of efficiency, accuracy, and responsibility
• Motivated with a strong desire to take on new challenges and eager to learn as much as possible

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 years of clerical accounting experience
• ERP experience
