Business Software Analyst
Essential Functions

The Business software analyst performs various functions as part of the internal software development team. Their primary function is to serve as a liaison between the software end user and the development staff.
The Business software analyst software analyst is primarily responsible for transmitting the demands of the user to the development team by preparing a software requirement, specification, and testing document for the developer to apply in producing the product. Further coordination of development tasks, testing and validation is also required.

Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Five to seven years’ experience in process improvement, project management, and customer support
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, including ability to clearly articulate technical issues and activities to technical and non-technical staff.
  • Ability to understand, document and communicate complex business workflows and processes
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt in a complex and changing environment
  • Well-developed practical operating knowledge of common desktop/laptop hardware and application software specifically.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform root cause analysis
  • Good problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively
  • Consistently meet expected production, accuracy and quality standards as set by management

  • Must be a US citizen
Additional Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of risk assessment methodologies
  • Familiarity with Software Development Lifecycles (SDLC) and programming concepts
Responsibilities
  • Identify suitable projects that benefit from system development and automation. Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system automation tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.
  • Continually evaluate and improve procedures.
  • Arrange project requirements in programming sequence by analyzing requirements; preparing a work flow chart and diagram using knowledge of subject matter, data flows and logic.
  • Responsible for planning and facilitating user design sessions
  • Develop and analyze functional specifications.
  • Be the interface between end-users and software developers
  • Resolve complex issues relating to business requirements and objectives.
  • Develop, analyze, and coordinate testing procedures.
  • Analyze, design, and develop modifications and changes to existing systems to enhance performance.
  • Identify and communicate project and design risks to management
  • Manage tasks according to prescribed project priorities and provide progress reports on projects
  • Participates in proof of concepts to assist in defining technology direction and enabling business strategy.
  • Conducts end-to-end technical plan design.
Work Environment:
  • This job interacts both in a professional office environment and a manufacturing/machine shop environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, as well as environments inclusive of the appropriate eye, hearing and foot protection (as required).
    • Overtime and weekend may be required, as job duties demand.

  • The employee is frequently required to reach and lift with hands and arms, and to use hands to finger, handle or feel
  • The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, turn, etc., and move about the facility
  • The employee may be required to lift, push, pull and/or move items weighing up to 25 pounds

This position is at our Parsippany NJ office location.
