As a Senior Account Executive, you will be part of the Enterprise vertical focused on the largest and most impactful commercial opportunities in Marqeta’s evolving business. As a seasoned sales executive, you have the opportunity to sell to the most innovative companies seeking to disrupt B2B and consumer payments. These customers include e-commerce, creator economy, dual-sided and retail marketplaces, all looking for solutions to launch, scale and continuously evolve their card programs and services. Key to this role is an ability to understand Marqeta's technology and how it brings value to the market, expertly communicate its benefits, and win the trust of the key stakeholders across revenue growth, product and technology teams of our potential partners. This exciting role is ideal for individuals seeking to go deep in all aspects of complex business and technical engagements.

What You'll Do  

  • Own the sales cycle for our largest target customers from prospecting to closing deals 
  • Understand Marqeta's technology and how it brings value to the market, expertly communicate its benefits, and win the trust of the key stakeholder
  • Work with internal SMEs to develop proposals and respond to RFIs/RFPs from prospects who are trying to understand what makes Marqeta’s platform and service offering so exceptional and differentiated
  • Partner with our product, marketing and customer success teams to define solutions that empower prospects and customers to delivery financial products to their customers

What We're Looking For

  • 10 years of experience in sales, partnerships and/or strategic business development roles; payments and strategic consulting background preferred but not required
  • Deep understanding of the payments ecosystem, with bonus points for knowing the issuing side
  • A self-motivated, all-around athlete who is eager to learn about new businesses, technologies, and markets and possesses the business judgment and sales acumen to close deals
  • Familiarity and ease with the fintech ecosystem, B2B technology applications and how technology platforms serve customer businesses.
  • Analytical, strategic negotiator with a commercially driven, goal oriented attitude
  • Out of the box thinking and creativity while pitching sophisticated and unsophisticated stakeholders
  • Superior communication skills (interpersonal, verbal, email, and presentation) with the ability to successfully orchestrate the sales process by managing the time and resources of the team and specialist partners
