Essential Job Functions (Including but not limited to the following):
- Responsible for the month-end closing process for assigned portfolio of assisted living properties
- Prepares monthly journal entries and the month end close with minimal supervision
- Prepares monthly balance sheet and bank reconciliations for assigned portfolio of properties
- Analyzes and prepares monthly financial reports
- Responsible for year-end processes including audits, tax prep and other regulatory requirements.
- Partners with community leaders to support operations of the properties
- Works closely with the managers and other department leaders on key initiatives and projects
- Assists with annual budget preparation
- Serves as the backup for A/P and other accounting team members
- Special projects and ad hoc reporting as required
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS in Accounting or 3 years of property accounting experience
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in property accounting
- Competency in Microsoft Excel or an eagerness to learn required
- Experience with Eldermark or Sage Intacct preferred
- Strong working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
- Candidates should possess high ethical standards and be willing to take ownership
- Must possess an energetic, positive mindset with an eagerness to develop new skills
- Candidates should possess the ability to analyze data with accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing, including technical writing skills
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced, high-volume environment, with minimal supervision
