Job Summary
We are seeking passionate Hotel Front Desk Agents to join our amazing team at a competitive pay rate ($16-18/HR DOE) plus benefits (PTO, Vacation, Holiday and Health Insurance) for Full-Time associates.
The Guest Services Agent’s responsibilities include but are not limited to representing the hotel to the guests throughout all stages of the guest's stay. The Guest Services Agent determines a guest's reservation status, identifies how long the guest will stay, helps guests complete registration cards, assigns rooms, and accommodates special requests whenever possible. The Guest Services Agent is also responsible for verifying the guest's method of payment, following established credit-checking procedures, entering the guest and room information in the property management system and communicating this information to the appropriate hotel personnel. The Guest Services Agent works closely with the housekeeping department in keeping room status reports up to date and coordinates with the maintenance department requests for maintenance and repair work. The Guest Services Agent must be sales-minded and be able to present options and alternatives to guests, offer assistance in making choices, know the location and types of available rooms, know the activities and services of the property, perform cashiering tasks such as bill and/or invoice settlement, and post charges to the guest’s folio.
Essential Functions
- Registers guests and assigns rooms. Accommodates special requests whenever possible
- Assists in preregistration and blocking of rooms for reservations
- Thoroughly understands and adheres to proper credit, check and cash handling policies and procedures
- Knows room locations, types of rooms available and room rates
- Uses suggestive selling techniques to sell rooms and to promote other services of the hotel
- Coordinates room status updates with the housekeeping department by notifying housekeeping of all check outs, late checkouts, early check-ins, special requests and day use rooms
- Possesses a working knowledge of reservations procedures. Takes same day reservations and future reservations when necessary. Knows cancellation procedures
- Proficient in how to use front office equipment and the property management system
- Processes guest check-ins, check-outs and performs cashier related functions like posting charges to guest accounts and issuing paid outs etc.
- Ability to use problem resolution techniques concerning guest issues and escalate to management when appropriate for guest recovery
- Uses proper telephone etiquette
- Uses proper mail, package and message handling procedures.
- Reads and initials the pass-on log daily, checks the bulletin board and is well aware of daily activities and meetings taking place in the hotel
- Attends departmental meetings
- Reports any unusual occurrences or requests to the manager or assistant manager
- Knows all safety and emergency procedures and is aware of accident prevention policies.
- Maintains the cleanliness and organization of the front desk area
- Responds to all guests, co-workers, vendors and visitors in a professional, friendly and courteous manner at all times
- Complies with attendance rules and is available to work on a regular basis.
- Perform any other job related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
- Computer experience preferred
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language used in the workplace.
- Must be able to speak and understand the primary language used by the guests who visit the hotel.
