JOB SUMMARY
The global distribution landscape in the lodging industry continues to expand and become more complex, and Marriott International recognizes the development and execution of an enhanced future intermediary partner relationship strategy as a key strategic focus. As part of Marriott's Distribution Strategy team, the Manager Distribution, Account Management, US & Canada reports to the Senior Director, Distribution US/CAN & Global Wholesale.
The Manager, Distribution, Account Management, US & Canada is responsible for executing the day-to-day delivery process of activities with assigned account portfolio including building/maintaining strong trusted relationships as well as executing against mutually defined account goals and KPIs.
This position is accountable for assigned tasks to support Marriott's Global Distribution Strategy including required internal and external relationship and stakeholder management. The position demonstrates advanced knowledge of job-relevant topics, systems and processes in order to pull through of assigned tasks.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience Required :
- 4-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Hotel Management, or related major.
- 3 years of professional experience in a relevant function, such as revenue / channel management, marketing, business development or strategic account management.
- Strong account management and influencing skills
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well within all levels of the organization, both internally and externally
- Fluent oral and written communication in English.
Education and Experience Preferred
- Channel specific knowledge, progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance
- Ability to develop and apply strategic frameworks to test, analyze and execute assigned projects
- Passion for project excellence and business development
Job Location
- MIHQ or Remote if located more than 50 miles from Bethesda, MD
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES :
Executing day-to-day delivery process of all related activities with assigned account portfolio
- Builds/maintains strong trusted relationship with assigned account portfolio
- Executes detailed account plans and measures success against those KPIs
- Cooperates very closely with global distribution account management teams to support global and regional execution of account strategies
- Develops strategies for management of assigned accounts.
- Provides strategies for establishing metrics with each assigned account to actively enhance the visibility of Marriott hotels to drive desired revenue in alignment with the principles of Marriott's Global Distribution Strategy.
- Acts as a resource to the Continent team for OTA and Wholesale distribution specific questions.
Executing marketing and merchandising opportunities
- Actively seeks and leverages OTA/Wholesale marketing opportunities to increase visibility of Marriott hotels where desirable and in alignment with the principles of Marriott's Global Distribution Strategy
- Supports Senior Director, Distribution US/CAN & Global Wholesale in executing media commitments in distribution contracts
Supporting business development and broader distribution strategy
- Provides support for key account partner strategic initiatives as assigned.
- Supports execution of Global Distribution Strategy projects as assigned.
Supporting communication and stakeholder management
- Attends business review meetings as appropriate
- Develops account updates for management (HQ and Continents) as needed
- Supports planning and preparation for strategic meetings between OTAs/Wholesalers and Marriott senior executives
- Develops and provides training and educational sessions on distribution as it relates to account specific strategies to Continent teams and hotels as needed
- Cooperates with members of the Sales & Distribution organization, Revenue Management, Owner & Franchise Services, Marketing as well as the Global Sales Organization where applicable
Cooperating with Distribution Operations team
Supports operational execution against established KPIs in cooperation with the Distributions Systems & Operations and/or CTAC teams (Direct Connect, content, images, payments, commission payments etc.)
Supports projects to enhance existing Direct Connect and/or establish new account specific interfaces as appropriate
Maintaining Goals
- Submits reports in a timely manner, ensuring delivery deadlines are met.
- Promotes the documenting of project progress accurately.
- Provides input and assistance to other teams regarding projects.
Managing Work, Projects, and Policies
- Manages and implements work and projects as assigned.
- Generates and provides accurate and timely results in the form of reports, presentations, etc.
- Analyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
- Provides timely, accurate, and detailed status reports as requested.

California Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $81,525.00 to $174,271.00 annually.
Colorado Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $81,525.00 to $158,430.00 annually.
New York City & Westchester County, NY Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $98,644.00 to $174,271.00 annually.
Washington Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $81,525.00 to $174,271.00 annually. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible to receive an annual bonus. Employees will accrue 0.4616 PTO balance for every hour worked and eligible to receive minimum of 7 holidays annually.
