JOB SUMMARY
This Senior Manager, Global Paid Search will help lead the strategy, optimization, and evolution of Marriott’s paid search program. The global search engine landscape is rapidly growing in complexity with new, sophisticated ways to reach consumers across the world. As part of the world’s largest hotel company, this role will focus on generating performance and profitability for all 8,000 hotels worldwide, based on consumer search demand from global markets. This role will manage multiple search partners and align closely with several internal teams across Consumer Operations, Global Brand & Marketing, Digital, Loyalty, Analytics, as well as members of Marriott’s franchise community. A portion of this role will focus on driving engagement and business for a specific set of Marriott brands among consumers who are researching travel online. The position reports directly to the Director, Global Paid Search.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience Required
- 4-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, or related major and 4 years of relevant professional experience, demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance.

Paid Search Strategic Contributions

Demonstrates robust knowledge of paid search (SEM) optimization, campaign tracking, audience targeting, data analysis, reporting/measurement and innovating with new technology.

Plays a leading role in managing key relationships with vendors such as Google, Bing, Yandex, Naver and Baidu. Leverages technical knowledge to drive strategic and tactical optimizations of paid search campaigns.

Collaborates with other paid media team members to develop strategic direction and coordination of campaigns worldwide.

Leverages effective paid search tactics to generate visibility for certain Marriott brands, driving consumers to web sites that describe the brands.

Creates effective business plans by exploring and systematically evaluating opportunities with the greatest potential for producing positive results; ensures successful preparation and execution of business plans through effective planning, organizing, and on-going evaluation processes.

Develops goals and objectives for several paid search programs with wide-ranging Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) - from driving awareness to loyalty acquisition, to profit-based performance.

Partners with key stakeholders to communicate strategic value of paid search efforts, to cultivate internal knowledge and advocacy for paid search efforts. Collaborates with in-region teams worldwide.

Provides subject matter expertise on paid search strategies to members of Global Brand & Marketing, Analytics, Digital, Marketing Platforms, Loyalty, IT, and other groups as appropriate.

Leads key strategic projects in bidding strategy, creative, landing page optimization, and audience segmentation efforts.

Makes decisions based upon data and analysis, driving strategic insights for Marriott, both within and outside of the paid search program.

Ensures messaging and performance are aligned with company priorities and complements other Marriott marketing channels.

Ensures Marriott’s agency partners are educated on and aligned with Marriott’s global strategy.

Ensures successful execution of business plans designed to maximize customer satisfaction, profitability, and market share through effective planning, organizing, and on-going evaluation processes.
Paid Search Program Execution & Analysis

Manages successful execution and coordination of several complex paid search campaigns in support of all Marriott brands, promotions, various lines of business, and 8,000 properties worldwide.

Manages large scale, high dollar media budgets and executes campaigns within existing budget parameters. Through targeted online media campaigns, generates additional visibility and business for specific Marriott brands.

Ensures achievement of annual paid search targets for Marriott’s paid search program in the US and internationally.

Analyzes campaign results to maximize sales and other valuable actions on Marriott.com. Communicates updates and provides direction and insights to campaign stakeholders, based upon data-driven decisions.

Stays updated on paid search best practices, new products, policies for major search engines, and industry news. Provides ad-hoc summaries about important paid search industry changes and identifies new search opportunities.

Gathers information and resources required to set a plan of action for self and/or others; prioritizes and arranges work requirements to accomplish goals and ensure work is completed.

Plays a lead role in evaluating industry and competitor paid search efforts.

Helps to lead efforts on mobile optimization and innovating via emerging technology and trends.

Interaction with Key Corporate Stakeholders and Regional Field Marketing Efforts

Helps lead coordinated efforts with Marriott’s Organic Search, Paid Media, and other internal marketing team strategies.

Partners internally with Global Brand & Marketing, Loyalty, Digital Services, Marketing Platforms, IT, Insights & Analysis, Regional and other Field marketing teams.

Works with the Digital Team, as appropriate, to develop, test and enhance new digital experiences across platforms.

Overseas coordination with the Field to coordinate campaign efforts and increase Marriott’s overall presence in search engines.

Proactively communicates with the Regional and Field marketing teams regarding corporate paid search efforts, learnings and regular performance updates.

Develops and fosters relationships based on an understanding of customer/stakeholder needs and actions consistent with the company’s service standards.
Vendor Relationship Management

Supervises external media agencies to execute paid search programs against objectives.

Manages search engine relationships with Google, Bing, Naver, Baidu and more.

Supervises relationship with external bid management platform.

Coordinates partnerships with other Marriott vendors for brand protection, competitive intelligence, emerging trends, etc.

Collaborates with other Marriott digital marketing agencies and partners to ensure strategic alignment.

California Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $93,713.00 to $204,107.00 annually.
Colorado Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $93,713.00 to $185,551.00 annually.
New York City & Westchester County, NY Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $113,393.00 to $204,107.00 annually.
Washington Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $93,713.00 to $204,107.00 annually. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible to receive an annual bonus. Employees will accrue 0.4616 PTO balance for every hour worked and eligible to receive minimum of 7 holidays annually.
