You are a Tax Analyst in the Compliance & Reporting ("C&R") function within the Global Tax Organization supporting all business segments of Mars Incorporated. You play a critical role in the entire tax cycle from sales/use tax, property tax compliance and reporting to tax controversy resolution. As a critical member of the Global Tax Organization, you are responsible for supporting the indirect tax Team and working through the details to govern tax processes and translating findings into actionable insights.

What are we looking for?

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from an accredited university required;

• Certified Public Accountant license or Enrolled Agent license encouraged.

• 1-2 years of indirect tax experience, including sales and use tax, real estate tax, personal property tax, with some public accounting experience preferred;

• Experience working within a team environment, including with teams in various geographic locations;

• Experience in data analytics software (Alteryx, Power Query, Power BI, Tableau) with implementation experience preferred;

• Experience using and implementing workflow tools, such as SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, or Smartsheet applications preferred.

What will be your key responsibilities?

• Assist in the review and maintenance of various matrices for sales and purchases across all segments of U.S. business;

• Support and validate tax exemption certificate compliance & governance for all U.S. business;

• Perform detail data analytics with various large datasets to strengthen overall tax governance;

• Compile necessary data to provide to external service provider to complete US sales/use tax, gross receipts, and property tax compliance;

• Prepare responses to tax audits and notices including compilation of deliverables;

• Maintain and prepare sales tax license registration and closures;

• Cultivate tax technology and support the transformation of tax processes;

• Research and proactively monitor tax issues, nexus and document conclusions.
