What are the responsibilities and job description for the Training Support position at Mars?
This position will operate within the guidelines, processes, procedures, tools, and systems provided by the E&T Pillar
Factory Capability Framework:
Support the role profiling methodology to build clear inventories of responsibilities and required skills and knowledge to identify gaps, and then use to support Associates in the factory who have those gaps. Support Associates as they work to complete Step-up Cards based on the role profile methodology. Update the factory skills matrices, ensuring this is kept up to date with the outputs of Associate validation once the Associates are trained. Reference the Factory Skills Gap Assessment Process to assist in completing a prioritized annual plan for training activity.
Knowledge Capture:
Training & coaching on all E&T processes, systems, and tools on the factory floor. Train individual Associates on the OPL process (One-point lessons) to ensure these communication tools are managed effectively. Ensure appropriate knowledge management methodologies are applied to maintain, share and update recorded knowledge within the site’s information structure. Develop Subject Matter Experts (i.e., Operations, Safety, QF&S, etc.) to support Associates.
Knowledge Transfer
Develop On the Job Trainers at the site. Proper storage of OPLs, Standard Work, Role Profiles, Skills Matrices, and Step-up Cards. Also includes updating and monitoring site training calendar and updating training courses. Accountable for integrity and deployment consistency & accuracy of site course completion and appropriate validation tools to confirm Associate capability. Support framework to ensure successful onboarding for new associates according standard.
Capability Building
Training System Ownership - Assigned Area (Skills Matrix , Glidepath Adherence, 30/60/90, etc.) Record Associate capability via training guides/assessments and/or POKA Step-Up Cards (SUCs) Obtain and utilize On-the-Job Trainer (OJT) and Expert Trainer certifications to deliver and support capability-building programs at the site Present and assist in the presentation of “On-The-Job Training” (OJT) program Support OJTs with materials, knowledge, and troubleshooting Deliver classroom training utilizing Expert Trainer tools/skills Communicate with Managers about trainee performance and skill gaps Coordinate with factory Safety, Quality, & Training departments to determine & ensure program compliance in all aspects of training & documentation. New Hire Orientation (NHO) System Ownership and Associated Responsibilities Teach, Coach, Assess L4 Trainer CART Tool L4 Trainer Continuous improvement and development of existing training processes.
Digital Factory
Support BUR’s Digital Factory initiative (e.g., POKA, Weever) Assist with the implementation and continuous improvement of POKA Step-Up Cards Work Instruction Development (Primarily POKA, MSFT Word, and Excel as Needed)
