Description
This position exists to provide leadership and production support within the Magnesium Processing Building. The successful candidate must take complete ownership in the area and be able to excel without continuous oversight from a direct supervisor. This position presents a great opportunity for entry into more leadership and responsibility within MARSHALLTOWN. This role is a step on the progression toward Supervisor positions.
Responsibilities:
This position will require the successful candidate to setup and operate various pieces of equipment while performing quality checks and running production rates to preset standards. This position also requires:
- Ensure all safety aspects of the jobs are being followed by employees.
- Setup and operate HAAS CNC Mills.
- Setup and operate Hawk Cell and Bull Float Cell equipment.
- Setup and operate Clausing Drills.
- Perform basic adjustments to keep powder coat system running.
- Operate powered industrial equipment to move product and materials in an efficient and safe manner.
- Accurately enter data into computer system to track material movements and location.
- Have the ability to train and cross train other employees.
- Perform quality checks.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Must have good oral and written communication skills. Must have good math skills.
- Needs good decision making and problem solving skills.
- Attention to detail while operating safely is a must.
- Must have ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
- Must be able to successfully pass Material Handler test and complete forklift certification.
- Computer proficiency using handheld scanners and keyboards.
- Excellent attendance.
- Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
- A position on first shift is considered a higher classified position
- An employee must be in good standing to be considered for a new position. An employee in good standing:
- Has not made the 10% list with a Written #2 in the last 3-months or made Probation in the last 6-months
- No safety violations, no disciplinary action taken for safety violations, and has worked safely in the last 6-months
- Has not received a reprimand beyond a verbal within the last 6-months
