Description
MARSHALLTOWN is looking for highly motivated, goal-oriented Industrial Engineering Technicians to help drive Lean Engineering Principles to the manufacturing processes at our Fayetteville, AR facility.
Through a detailed understanding of the factory objectives and extensive collaboration with internal and external teams, the Industrial Engineering Technician will help improve processes and performance (safety, quality, efficiency, and capacity.)
Responsibilities:
Assist Industrial Engineers in developing and deploying efficient systems that integrate employees, machines, material requirements, etc. to production associates, machines, material requirements, etc., to achieve optimal manufacturing performance.
Collaborate with Operations Management and cross-functional support teams (quality, engineering, safety, etc.) to identify manufacturing constraints and execute solutions accordingly.
Assist Engineers and Operations Management to plan work assignments based on performance, machine capability, and production schedules.
Conducts motion and time studies in work cells, while reporting improvement recommendations to leaders
Recommend, implement, and revise Standard Work documentation to increase overall efficiency of operations through the ECR (Engineering Change Request) process.
Improve workstation safety and ergonomics.
Other responsibilities, project work, and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Position Requirements:
Highschool Diploma (or GED equivalent), required. Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or Associate’s degree in Industrial Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, or other technical field (strongly preferred.)
3 years of related experience in previous manufacturing facility, strongly preferred.
Working or academic knowledge of 5S principles, Work Measurement, JIT, Kanban and various Problem-Solving Methods.
Understanding of Takt timed, target cycle timed, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Line Balancing methodologies, and other Industrial Engineering/Lean Engineering terminology.
Ability to prepare diagrams to illustrate workflow, part routing, floor layouts, material handling and usage points, and equipment utilization.
Ability to collect statistical production cycle time studies, analyze data, and optimize process. Moderate data analysis skills, required. Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
Ability to interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, schematic drawings and formulas, a plus.
Ability to work under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines.
Exemplary verbal and written communication skills, required.
