Job Title: Oral Surgery Technician Cost Center: 301691209 Weston-Oral Surgery Scheduled Weekly Hours: 32 Employee Type: Regular Work Shift: Mon-Fri; day shifts (United States of America) Job Description: JOB SUMMARY The Oral Surgery Technician functions as a member of the healthcare team by providing basic supportive procedures under the supervision of a dentist or physician. The individual will provide clinical support and operating room assistance to assist the surgeon in technical or surgical aspects of the oral surgery practice. The Oral Surgery Technician performs in a manner consistent with Marshfield Clinic Health Systems’ mission, policies, and initiatives while maintaining patient confidentiality. JOB QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation. Minimum Required: Completion of a technical program in a healthcare field, or military equivalent, or three years’ experience working as a dental assistant. Preferred/Optional: Graduate of surgical technologist program. EXPERIENCE Minimum Required: Experience in a surgical setting. Preferred/Optional: Experience as an Oral Surgery Technician or related position. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position. Minimum Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire. Preferred/Optional: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire. Dental Anesthesia Assistant National Certification awarded by the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS) at time of hire.
