We are looking for a Legal Assistant to join our firm at our Seattle office.

Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, you will be supporting our 20 attorney’s across our six locations coast to coast. Responsible for the administrative support within the firm, Legal Assistant are vital to our success and valued for increasing the firm’s productivity and efficiency. This position is a shared resource across the firm’s partners, associates and paralegals, granting the ideal candidate broad access to our specific environmental services and industries. This is a unique opportunity for experienced legal assistants and will give invaluable experience to those interested in pursuing a legal career.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative and litigation support to our attorneys including but not limited to formatting, proofreading, and quality control of legal documents (pleadings, discovery, deposition notices, subpoenas, trial binders, agreements, and other formal correspondences).
  • Provide litigation support in complex environmental matters, and assist our attorney’s in preparing for depositions, hearings, motions, arbitrations and mediations, trials, court appearances, and appeals.
  • Promptly file and serve on opposing counsel pleadings, motions, responses, replies and other documents within state and federal courts, nationwide. Because filings are often complicated and involve detailed declarations and exhibits to meet court-specific filing (including e-filing) requirements, priority will be given to those with direct experience.
  • Conduct client and attorney communications, maintaining professionalism across all forms of communication, whether in-person, by telephone, email, or virtually.
  • Manage case deadlines and documentation.
  • Organize and maintain physical and electronic case files.
  • Support general office administrative duties, including scanning, copying, building binders, mailing, messengering, etc.
  • Work collaboratively with other Legal Assistants, and with paralegals, staff, and attorneys to support the firm’s needs.
  • Bachelor’s Degree from accredited University
  • 3 years of demonstrable experience in prior law firm or similar experience.
  • Ideal candidate will have experience or high level of interest in environmental law.
  • Ability to operate independently while maintaining a high level of proactive communication.
  • Desire to be an in-office presence for the firm.
  • Very strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail, analytically driven, with excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience working within legal software, including NetDocuments, LMS, Jura Law, or similar.
