`Resident Advisor
Two weekends per month:
Every other Weekend - Saturday 8am to Monday 8am
Join our Team! Become a Resident Advisor (RA) and help pregnant women on their path to self-sufficiency. Mary’s Home is a faith-based organization that helps women who are pregnant and either homeless or lack suitable support to have a healthy pregnancy.
We are seeking a mature person, passionate about our mission to oversee the daily weekend routine of residents in our maternity home.
The Resident Advisor acts as a role model, and teaches residents life skills, most importantly preparing them for their future lives of self-sufficiency. As well as helping them to maintain consistency in their daily activities and completing household chores.
The RA will also be responsible for the safety and security of the residents, assist in maintaining the order of the home, as well as providing guidance and support to residents and their infants.
Reports to Resident Program Director
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Exhibits a professional attitude with empathy, mindfulness and compassion to residents of the home
2. Instructs and assists residents with life skills training; including but not limited to: personal hygiene, communication and interpersonal skills, decision-making and problem solving, cooking, cleaning, and baby care
3. Distributes all items necessary for residents’ daily living provided by the organization
4. Assists with newborn care as needed
5. Manages conflict by de-escalating situations
6. Responds to emergencies while on duty
7. Conducts daily checks and inspections of all areas for safety, security and chore completion
8. Deep cleans the RA Room bedroom, office areas, bathrooms, and other high traffic areas in the administrative areas of the house as well as assists with special household management projects as needed
9. Assigns Mary’s Home points to residents according to completion of tasks
10. Oversees the organization of the household supply closets and food pantry
11. Provides transportation, as needed, to residents to appointments, errands, etc.
12. Provides emotional and spiritual support to residents as needed
13. Plans dinners with the residents on Sundays
14. Reports general building maintenance concerns to the appropriate personnel.
15. Maintains records as required by Resident Program Director.
16. Reports significant resident occurrences/incidents with Resident Program Director
17. Participates in scheduled monthly staff meetings and Resident Advisor meetings as determined by the Resident Program Director
18. Answers phones and doors, including crisis calls by men, women, and couples seeking shelter
19. Assists with projects as needed
Qualifications:
1. High School graduate or equivalent
2. At least two years of experience working in a nonprofit with an at-risk population in a transitional group home
3. Positive attitude and commitment to change the lives of pregnant women and their infants through empowerment and mentoring
4. Proficient in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, e-mail and internet usage
5. Proficient in basic housekeeping
6. Demonstrated capability to conduct self in a calm and professional demeanor when handling difficult situations and willingness to learn and receive training
7. Demonstrated capability to effectively communicate orally and in writing
8. Ability to work well with a diverse group of staff and volunteers
*Eligible candidates must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License, have a clean background and clean driving record. Candidates must be willing and able to drive on occasion using company minivan to transport residents locally as needed.

Experience:
- Caregiving: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
