What are the responsibilities and job description for the MACRO Program Manager position at Maryland Courts?
MACRO's Program Manager for Mediator Excellence serves as MACRO's main point of contact and subject matter expert in the area of mediator quality assurance. This is accomplished, in large part, through management and administration of the Maryland Program for Mediator Excellence (MPME). The MPME is a statewide voluntary membership program which brings a comprehensive approach to quality assistance by providing mediators the tools necessary to develop and maintain quality mediation skills.
The position is responsible for:
The general management of the MPME, including activities such as developing programs and projects; communicating with members; promoting the benefits of the MPME to new mediators and ADR programs; creating reports on membership levels; completion of continuing education requirements, and other data elements as needed.
Administration of the MPME web-based database system, including technical management and ongoing configuration of mediator applications and other elements housed within the web platform; management of membership applications and continuing education; responding to member questions regarding proper use of the system; managing and analyzing data from the system; and providing reports, and recommending changes and upgrades to the site, when necessary.
Planning, coordinating, and providing continuing education trainings and events for mediation practitioners and ADR program managers, including the Maryland Mediators Convention.
Working collaboratively with other MACRO staff on initiatives related to the statewide mediation roster for circuit courts, ADR rules and procedures, Judicial committees, and workgroups; provision of mediation or other conflict resolution services as part of the judiciary's internal employee mediation program.
Education:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
Experience:
Four (4) years of professional work experience in conflict resolution or mediation, or a related area. One (1) year of experience supervising, leading, coaching, or mentoring mediators and/or dispute resolution service providers.
Licenses and Certifications required:
40 Hour Mediation Training
Note:
Must have completed a 40-hour basic mediation training.
Professional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
In-depth knowledge of mediation
Knowledge of other ADR processes, including restorative justice practices
Knowledge of Maryland court ADR rules, ADR statutes and the Maryland Standards of Conduct for Mediators
Knowledge of, and ability to use, meeting and event planning processes and systems to plan and
produce a variety of continuing education courses and activities
Knowledge of program management and project evaluation
Knowledge and experience working with data-base systems, preferably Salesforce.
Skill in high attention to detail.
