Located in Greater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses in Wellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.

Position Summary:
The ideal candidate will join a vibrant and inclusive educational community and have a desire and ability to work with a diverse population. This is a part-time, non-unit position with no benefits.

The Professional Mentor Network Manager will help navigate students to mentoring programs and opportunities based on students' skills, interests, and majors. The Project Manager must work well with diverse constituents including students, faculty, and staff as well as industry mentors. They will work with the Alumni Relations and Volunteer Coordinator building on existing employer relations and creating new ones, as well as provide MassBay students with the opportunity to learn from an experienced current or retired professional, adding value, expertise and advice for heading into the workforce. These individual mentoring relationships provide students of all majors and interests with valuable real-life tools. Some opportunities include employability skill building such as:

  • Strengths-based skills assessments;
  • Building and maintaining an Authentic professional online presence;
  • Job shadowing and internships;
  • Invitations to participate in networking events;
  • Resume and cover letter review.

Key Responsibilities and Duties: *

Perform the mentor/mentee matching process for the spring semester and related follow-up;

  • Respond to individual questions and interest in mentoring, refer students to appropriate mentoring resources, and work with students whose major isn’t Business or STEM to match them with a professional mentor;
  • Inform mentees of events/activities/resources related to their educational and professional development and communicate regularly with mentees.Serve as primary liaison to industry mentors by responding to individual concerns and questions as well as providing routine check-ins;
  • Recruit new mentors;
  • Market the program internally within the college as well as externally in the MetroWest community;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Education, Counseling or related discipline;
  • Two (2) years of experience working in higher education and/or managing projects and/or serving in an advisory role to students preferred;
  • Must have a flexible schedule and be willing and able to adjust weekly hours depending on program needs;
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;
  • Excellent oral and written communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.

Salary Range: * $27-30 per hour; 18 hours per week for 34 weeks during the academic year

This is a grant funded position, and position is contingent on funding.
