Job Description:
The Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts invites applications for Campus Rental and Corporate Sponsorship Coordinator (CRCSC). The CRCSC is responsible for developing and managing a plan to promote MCLA facilities usage to external groups for conferences and other special purpose events. The plan will address the goal of generating revenue through the use of college space by the public. In addition, the CRCSC will help manage the College's corporate sponsorship program to help to drive new revenues through campus events.
DETAILED STATEMENT OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the development and execution of a plan for external conferences/events at MCLA, including the development and implementation of a strategic marketing plan aimed at enhancing the College's conference/event business. A priority will be placed on developing and implementing revenue generating opportunities from the use of campus facilities, especially during the summer months.
- In conjunction with the Director of Corporate Engagement and Strategic Partnerships develops and executes an annual plan for a corporate sponsorship program in support of campus events.

Assist the Special Projects Officer with management of internal campus events including but not limited to:
- Coordinating space requests for non-academic events in campus facilities using EMS, the College's electronic event scheduling software;
- Communicating event support needs to various campus departments providing service.
- Note: support for campus room reservations in EMS will be provided by the Campus Center Information Concierge/Administrative Assistant.
- Assists the Director of Corporate Engagement and Strategic Partnerships with the execution of an annual plan for a corporate sponsorship program in support of campus events.
- Negotiate contracts for/with outside vendors in support of internal and external campus events.
- Serve as the contact and clearinghouse for all external organization/individuals seeking to use or rent college facilities for events, providing proposals and campus tours as required.
- Assists the Director of Corporate Engagement and Strategic Partnerships with special projects, including preparation of purchase orders and service contracts, tracking general outreach and solicitations through Raiser's Edge, and scheduling meetings
- Assists the Director of Corporate Engagement and Strategic Partnerships with Berkshire Compact meeting prep and taking notes at the monthly meetings.
- Other duties as directed by the Director.
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree required
- 1-2 years, experience working in events management.
- Clear understanding and appreciation for the mission of a public four-year Liberal Arts College.
- Experience in marketing to businesses, community organizations or individuals.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to work effectively with various internal and external constituents.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and knowledge of database systems preferably Raiser's Edge or similar donor database system.
- Demonstrated project management and negotiation skills with volunteers, business representatives or staff.
- Ability to develop rapport with students, parents, alumni, faculty, staff administration and the general public.
- Demonstrated experience dealing with confidential matters and multiple constituents, particularly high-profile individuals.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced office environment.
- High flexibility and tolerance for/ability to adapt to change.
- Ability to work weekend and evening events in support of events and conference coordination.
- Ability to articulate College priorities and policy.
- Ability to lift 40 lbs.
Additional Information:
This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, position in the APA bargaining unit. Salary Range for this position is $39,000-$42,000.
