What are the responsibilities and job description for the Equipment Supervisor position at MasTec Inc?
Job Summary: Responsible for the overall lifecycle management of the Equipment fleet. This oversight includes, data driven analysis, asset acquisition/disposal/justification, managing pattern records, audits and overall management. This job description is not meant to be all inclusive and will change as company needs require it to be altered but includes the following responsibilities.
Equipment Department Mission: Decrease maintenance costs and increase up time within the equipment fleet, while maintaining a safe and healthy work environment. Primary measures of accountability will include Asset Utilization, Uptime, Return on Invested Capital, Maintenance Cost minimization.
- Works with field personnel on all their equipment needs.
- Works with rental companies on rentals, RPO's, and any swap outs of rental equipment.
- Works with Service Manager on any rental repairs.
- Supervises and schedules fuel trucks and drivers, including running daily fuel logs
- Manages company GPS system including updates, swap outs, and installs of equipment.
- Enters all new equipment in VP and assigns numbers.
- Maintains equipment information in VP and B2W.
- Runs daily reports to check status of GPS units and hours of service.
- Works with Director of Equipment on purchases and disposals.
- Tracks and manages all registrations and inspections for rolling stock.
- Approves time and PTO time for yard tech and fuel truck drivers.
- Approves all invoices for rentals.
- Other Duties as directed.
Education and Work Experience Requirements:
- Leadership skills and ability to foster a collaborative environment.
- Four-year Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven technical knowledge of construction heavy equipment.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience with heavy equipment in the construction industry
- Good communicator.
- Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
- Read, analyze and interpret general business documents, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
- Write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
- Work with mathematical and logical concepts to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Strong experience and working knowledge of the full MS Office Suite.
Work Environment:
When visiting jobsites, the work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks which require following basic safety precautions. May involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises.
