Job Summary
Leadman supervises and assists with the day-to-day activities of the substation employees and the project to which they are assigned, reports directly to Foreman assigned to the project. Leadman must be able to perform the various duties while on the job from Groundman to Journeyman.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all construction activities
- Direct, coach and guide all staff assigned to the project
- Ensure project materials and workmanship meets the project quality standards and design requirements
- Review and address plan details, resolve issues before they result in added budget expenditures
- Advise Foreman of any potential problems, work interferences or schedule difficulties while assisting in circumventing/resolving such conflicts
- Enforce site specific plans and procedures that are in line with EEI’s culture and safety requirements; adheres to EEI’s Safety First Culture
- Shows commitment to EEI’s Safety culture through personal behavior and willingness to influence others
- Understands and complies with Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics
- Maintain the project’s daily job diary
- A working knowledge of computer operations and programs
- Other tasks as assigned by Management
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- OSHA 10 and/or 30
- Obtain/Maintain a valid Class A Commercial Drivers License
- Ability to carry and lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to manage others and many facets of the construction project and assume responsibility.
- Ability to lead and assess trade performance on the job
Skills
- Ability to learn how to operate construction equipment and use hand tools
- Ability to work within a physically demanding work environment
- Physical activity including extended periods of standing and walking, frequent sitting, kneeling, bending, crouching, reaching, stopping, and climbing
- Work is primary preformed both indoor and outdoor environments in all/extreme weather conditions
- Ability to apply basic engineering principles to construction challenges
