Job Summary

MasTec North America is seeking a safety focused leader to lead one or multiple crews performing traffic signal construction and maintenance work. Position will be based in Austin, TX with travel to project locations within the state of Texas.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for various traffic signal construction work in accordance with established safety standards, policies, procedures and operational standards of MasTec and our customers
• Manage crews, complete underground infrastructure, above ground installations and retrofits
• Signal and traffic signal component maintenance as needed

Qualifications

• 3 years experience managing and running projects remote from crew leaders
• 5 years of Field Supervison experience
• Ability to physically perform hands-on installation of signals/components, use required tools, work at heights, in confined spaces, and in proximity of moving traffic and in inclement weather
• 3 years leading and teaching crew safety.
• Experience using bucket trucks or other aerial lift devices
• Ability to obtain CDL and DOT medical card within 3 months of employment and maintain thereafter
• IMSA Traffic Signal Level III certification preferred.
• TR450 or ability to obtain within 3 months of employment

Preferred

• Bi-Lingual- English/Spanish a plus.

Physical Demands and Work Environment 

This job operates in a field environment. This role routinely requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, lifting in awkward positions, standing, and twisting. Also, working in inclement weather conditions, such as extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind.  

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This position is physically active, with lifting required. Must be able to bend and lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more or 20 inches or less, with the ability to judge distance and space relationships. Precise hand-eye coordination. Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
