What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Manager position at MasTec Network Solutions?
As a Safety Manager, you will serve as a Subject Matter Expert with all safety matters. In addition, you will assist Corporate Safety with the development of safety policies, procedures and industry guidelines for wireless construction within MNS.
As a Safety Manager your responsibilities will include, the identification and guidance of safety principles with the ability to advise regarding compliance as outlined by MNS, OSHA directives and ANSI standards. The primary responsibilities are to perform Site Safety Observations, assist Market field teams in the adherence of Company, Federal, State and Customer safety regulations, while promoting a proactive safety culture.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct random jobsite visits building report and coaching crews utilizing Site Safety Observations
- Initializing corrective actions, identifying leading indicators and identifying possible training improvements
- Participate and provide leadership for weekly market safety meetings involving discussions to mitigate hazards, conduct incident root cause investigations, or assist operations with pre-job planning
- Serve as a resource to our employees for customer specifications regarding, OSHA regulations, ANSI standards and MNS safety policies. Support the Market Operations Construction Team and Field crews
- Provide assistance to review and verify required critical certifications for field members and General Contractors
- Work with the National Safety Team in the development of safety initiatives, educating employee of MNS Safety metrics and, act as a safety liaison with industry committees and initiatives as needed
- Implement, interact and maintain pro-active communication with Market Operations and Regional/Corporate Safety
- Periodically conduct and participate in training as directed by the Training Division
- Provide insight to the training team as to training program revisions, practical training modules and methodology
- Provide assistance and support to Customer, State and Federal entities during inspections, inquiries or corrective action initiatives
- Participate and be responsive in a rotational on call, after hours schedule including weekends and company holidays
