The Magnet Coater operates equipment to apply a powder coating to magnets. The Magnet Coater performs visual inspections to detect any defects or deviations. Performs set up and routine maintenance on the magnet coating equipment.
- Determines proper powder flow, viscosity, and coating quality by following work instructions and by performing visual inspections.
- Observes machine gauges and equipment operation to detect defects or deviations from standards, and makes adjustments accordingly.
- Records required operational data on specified forms.
- Fills hoppers and reservoirs with material used to coat.
- Sets up and operates machines to coat products. Performs troubleshooting and light equipment maintenance.
- Removes materials, parts, or work pieces from coating machines, using hand tools.
- Transfers completed items or products from machines to cooling area using handcarts.
Basic Skills
- Ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness.
- Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine to exact positions.
- Ability to use both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
- Ability to see details at close distance.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments and tools, such as calipers or scales.
- Ability to read customer or engineering drawing or specifications.
- Possesses mechanical ability in order to perform troubleshooting and light equipment maintenance.
- Ability to speak, read and write English.
- Well organized and detail orientated.
Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
