What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supervisor, Quality Control position at Mastronardi Produce?
Come join our growing team in Laredo, TX! Due to expansion, we are currently seeking a Quality Control Supervisor. In our refrigerated facility that operates 24/7, you will work collaboratively with our Commodity Inventory Control (CIC) Team, Production Managers, and other warehouse personnel to ensure that our greenhouse grown products meet the highest standards of quality for our valued customers.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Achieve customer satisfaction and reduce product rejections and waste. Gather relevant data and provide timely and actionable reporting.
- Monitor product traceability and work with CIC’s to eliminate product that doesn’t meet specifications.
- Proactively find solutions to product issues and establish processes that will prevent future issues.
- Supervise Quality Control Inspectors to ensure that all product inspections are being performed, labeling specification are adhered to, and non-conformance product is pulled and corrected.
- Train, coach, and teach Quality Control Inspectors about our product, product defects, product quality concerns, and customer expectations.
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills that will motivate and encourage teamwork.
- Ensure the health, safety, cleanliness and security of the work environment.
- Responsible for maintaining the spirit of teamwork and productivity among fellow maintenance personnel in accordance with Mastronardi Produce
- Maintain confidentiality of all proprietary information, as well as other Company data, including personal information.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Science, Business or related field is preferred. Will consider work experience, in lieu of a degree.
- A minimum of 3 years’ work experience in a quality control function; production or manufacturing environment is required. Food manufacturing is highly desired.
- Knowledge of quality control procedures and legal standards.
- Possess leadership skills with an emphasis towards respect and professionalism as you interact with employees, customers and vendors.
- Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills. Need to be creative, adaptable and able to accurately work with a sense of urgency.
- Must be a self-starter and willing to work flexible hours; Rotational shifts, weekends, holidays, etc.
- Assist with warehouse needs as requested by management.
- Computer proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point; with adaptability to learn new systems quickly.
- Proficiency in use of English language with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
- Spanish as a second language is highly desired.
- Complete a background and drug test screening.
- Must have manual dexterity to perform computer skills.
Working Conditions:
- Environment includes an expansive refrigerated warehouse, where the temperature averages a constant 55 degrees (except office areas). The background noise approaches 70 dcbs.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. with or without accommodation
- Position requires sitting, standing, walking and bending, squatting, and crawling on a regular basis
