Summary:
Under the supervision of the Director of Behavioral Health, or Designee, the Clinician provides behavioral health services from a team approach, to meet the needs of clients while maintaining a therapeutic, helping relationship with a variety of consumers. The incumbent will provide daytime walk-in interventions at MSHS locations, will provide assessments for quick access to services for high acuity individuals and maintains a small clinical case load. Provides assertive follow-up to individuals.

- This position requires compliance with MSHS’ compliance standards, including the Code of Conduct, Compliance Program, and policies and procedures. Such compliance will be an element considered as part of the regular performance evaluation.
- As directing clinician, monitors therapeutic process and leads team meeting reviews with integrated Behavioral Health, Primary Care and Dental teams as appropriate and applicable.
- Maintains a caseload and demonstrates competencies in providing integrated assessment, treatment plan development, individual, group, and family therapy using best practice approaches to treatment.
- Provides assertive follow-up to individuals who have been in a MH crisis and attempts to engage them in services or secure a referral to other appropriate service provider(s).
- Demonstrates competencies in providing phone and face- to-face psychiatric emergency consultations in daytime crisis response. Makes tentative diagnoses, assesses safety and level of care need and makes recommendations. Provides competent after-hours weekday and weekend phone crisis coverage.
- Provides clinical consultation and or training to Rehabilitation Services Staff.
- Provides short notice intake assessments as needed to facilitate quick access to services.
- Provides screenings for initial level of care determination and case management as appropriate.
- Completes all clinical documentation according to state and professional regulations with timeliness and minimal error and correction.
- Initiates and participates in clinical supervision proportionate to licensure and level of experience and training (Non-licensed clinical staff must complete one hour per week and reach licensure within three years).
- Maintains billable productivity based on scheduled caseload and open access crisis coverage needs.

- Requires sitting, standing, bending, reaching, lifting under 50 lbs., and driving.
- Requires manual dexterity to operate standard office and other equipment.
- Requires normal hearing range, ability to speak, and vision acuity.
Minimum Education and Experience:
- License-eligible master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field.
- Must become licensed as LPC or LCSW within three years.
- Two years experience working in the mental health industry
- Have general knowledge of EMR/EHR software and Microsoft Office programs
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operations and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
General Requirements:
- Clear background check (subject to DHSS background check)
- Current tuberculosis screening test result
- Current driver’s license; clean driving record history
- Current First Aid and CPR certifications must be obtained within two weeks of hire. CPI (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention) certification must be obtained when offered through the agency; it may substitute the current MANDT certificate for CPI.
