Analytical Chemist
As, Analytical Chemist, you are a key member of our Lab Team, performing analytical testing of inorganic materials. You will manage data in support of Materion's requirements for customers and our Quality Management System.
You will have the opportunity to:
* Perform analytical testing using techniques including, but not limited to, gravimetric analysis, various wet chemistry methods, instrumentation to analyze %O, %N, and %C, as well as spectrographic methods to quantify trace elements.
* Apply your keen analytical and critical-thinking skills to uphold our high quality and performance standards
* Use computer systems (LIMS, SAP, Microsoft Office) to perform data entry accurately and quickly with no errors or transpositions.
* Maintain a safe, clean work environment.
Requirements:
* Associates or bachelor's degree in Chemistry with a minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in an analytical lab setting is preferred.
* Or, in lieu of degree, minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as a Lab Technician performing laboratory testing in a manufacturing industry is required
* Ability to perform basic laboratory tasks, including but not limited to using an analytical balance, using volumetric pipets and flasks, and performing basic mathematical calculations, required.
* Experience in an ISO 17025 laboratory setting, knowledge of proper documentation practices, basic troubleshooting skills, familiarity with DC Arc, LECO, gravimetric analysis, ICP-OES and/or AAS, preferred.
* Must be available to work 1st shift.
The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction.
