Under the direction of the Manager, Health & Safety, the EHS Technician collects environmental, occupational health and safety data for regulatory compliance. Monitor’s facility and surrounding areas for potential environmental, occupational health and safety hazards to ensure conformance with internal and external regulations. Audits, reports and assists in correcting unsafe acts or conditions. Inspects, tests, and maintains various environmental, safety and sampling equipment. Provides required training and conducts fit testing.
You will have the opportunity to:
- Obtains air monitoring data. Set up and collection of in plant air samples for beryllium or any other physical agent associated with plant operations.
- Inspects, cleans, tests, calibrates, and maintains air sampling and safety equipment.
- Performs routine environmental, safety and health audits.
- Inspects and samples plant water discharge systems, waste conveyance streams and groundwater in accordance with established procedures.
- Maintains outplant air sampling equipment and routinely collects outplant air samples.
REQUIREMENTS:
- The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
- A Bachelor or Associate degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, Safety, or Science is preferred.
- The successful candidate must have a basic understanding of environmental and occupational health sampling methods and safety regulations as would be acquired through a post high school certificate program or active participation in a safety team / auditor / or other similar business unit function.
The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction.
