Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Master Planner is an integral part of the Precision Optics team.
You Will Have the Opportunity to:
- Establish production and inventory plans that balance production resources, supports customer requirements, and meets company inventory objectives.
- Monitor and maintain new sales and transport order demand to ensure achievable due dates based on current loading and capacity availability.
- Manage WIP and schedule priorities to ensure the timely completion of orders and desired outcomes are achieved.
- Maintains and monitor backlog demand schedule loading parameters. Monitor demand loading to ensure capacity overloads do not occur and overload situations are addressed.
- Review work center loading versus available capacity with manufacturing to identify overloading situations that may need to be addressed.
- Determine and communicate lead time requirements for new order inquiries based on current plant loading, routing lead times, and available manufacturing resources and communicate to customers and service centers.
- Maintain flow of materials between Westford and Tyngsboro facilities.
- Perform periodic inventory adjustments to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Ensure communication with stakeholders and cross-functional teams such as Finance, Sales, Manufacturing, Engineering, PM, and Procurement.
- Participate in manufacturing production meetings as required to review schedules and issues involving equipment, vendors, material availability, capacity, and staffing
- Manage and drive a team of 3 planners
Requirements:
- A bachelor degree in supply chain management or similar area
- A minimum of (7) years of manufacturing experience in similar role
- Optics industry experience preferred
The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Since Materion Precision Optics and Thin Film Coatings is a Department of Defense cleared facility, the candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. Citizen, a U.S. National, or a Lawful Permanent Resident of the U.S.
This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process.
