Working under the direction of the Senior Manager, will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing development process improvement activities for MathWorks’ sophisticated software products; managing a team of 4-8 highly technical Engineers and Data Analysts in the Software Process Engineering Department; guiding and coaching around software process improvement strategy, data science strategy and skills; providing day-to-day mentorship and coaching for Development Process Improvement Engineers and Data Science Engineers on how to work effectively and efficiently with their project teams; coaching direct reports, including setting goals and objectives, writing reviews and holding regular one-on-one meetings; providing hands-on help to direct reports when appropriate including identifying and piloting new metrics, developing and analyzing data that helps MathWorks’ measure and visualize the user experience including helping teams interpret data; using a combination of qualitative and quantitative data to deliver actionable insights for quality product designs to enhance user experience; designing, prototyping, and developing dashboards that visualize customer data; and using statistical and machine learning techniques to identify meaningful customer insights in complex data sets.
