We are now looking for a Security Operations Manager to join our security response team.
About the Role
Our security response team sits within the wider Information Security org and plays a pivotal role reacting to and triaging cybersecurity incidents across Matillion to protect critical systems by preventing, detecting cyber attacks. They provide a 24/7 security response and monitoring capability to Matillioners across the globe and collaborate closely with threat intelligence, threat detection & hunting teams to ensure Matillion provides a trusted SaaS platform to its customers.
Reporting into the Director, Information Security, you will use your expertise with advanced techniques for monitoring, analysing, detecting, and responding to cyber events and incidents specifically with a modern cloud native environment. You'll provide technical leadership and mentoring for junior employees, whilst contributing to the development of security response programs, providing creative solutions to challenging problems. Your exposure to handling major, high impact incidents within a SaaS setting will be instrumental to developing a best in class, IT Security function at Matillion.
We value in-person collaboration here at Matillion, therefore this role follows our hybrid work structure where Matillioners work 2 days a week in our Manchester office.
Our core day is Wednesday, and the second day will be determined together. The rest of the week you are welcome to work from the office, or remotely if you’d prefer.
Technologies You’ll Use... AWS, CloudFlare, AWS SecHub, Splunk, DatDog, SIEM, SumoLogic, Kuberentes, Kafka, Terraform.
\n- Designing and implementing the security operations model for Matillion’s cloud native tech stack
- Driving and developing security incident response initiatives that improve Matillion’s capabilities to effectively react and remediate security incidents
- Collaborating with the third-party Managed Detection and Response (MDR) service to establish effective security monitoring and incident response processes
- Keep up to date with the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends, and provide recommendations for improving the security posture of the organisation
- Extensive experience in driving security incident response and detection programs ideally in a SaaS or IaaS environment
- In-depth knowledge of the cloud, ideally AWS as well as cloud security best practices, including infrastructure security, identity and access management, and data protection
- A proven track record in Security - Engineering, Operations, Incident Response, Analysis, or Threat Research
- An extensive knowledge of web protocols, common attacks, and a working knowledge of Linux/Unix tools and architecture
- The ability to oversee and the development of more junior engineers and assist them with prioritising workload effectively.
At Matillion, we are committed to providing competitive salaries in line with market standards. Our estimated compensation range for this position is £52,000 - 71,500 , but the final salary will be based on your relevant skills, experience and qualifications demonstrated in the hiring process.
