Our Quality Assurance Technician supports Mativ’s Sustainability and Adhesives Solutions Function. This individual will Technician performs inspections and analytical tests, throughout the
manufacturing process to ensure compliance to specifications under the supervision of Quality Management. This position is located in Windsor, CT and reports to the Quality Manager.
Responsibilities
- Perform incoming inspection of raw materials in accordance with raw material specifications.
- Maintain all specification files (customer & raw materials)
- Makes final approval of products for shipment.
- Performs inspection and testing of products.
- Conducts finished product audits.
- Consults manufacturing on quality issues in Converting and Coating operations.
- Coordinates shipments with Customer Service, Shipping, Converting and Quality.
- Records, charts and analyzes test data for comparison purposes.
- Tests finished products in accordance with Product Requirement Sheet, (PRS), and Tech 11.
- Types of tests include, but are not limited to peel, shear, tack and adhesion to release.
- May perform additional tests to meet customer's certification requirements.
- Reviews and approves testing performed by other Quality Assurance technicians.
- Prepares non-conforming reports and reports findings to Quality Engineer and Quality Assurance Manager.
- Input raw material and finished product test requirements in ERP system.
- Perform usage decisions in ERP system based on raw material and finished product test/inspection results.
- Initiate internal and supplier complaints for non conforming material.
Required
- Must have good communication skills
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control in a Manufacturing environment.
- Associates Degree in Chemistry, Physical Sciences or Tech Field. Relevant job experience may be considered in place of a 2-year degree.
- Must be able to evaluate quality based on product specifications and alert manufacturing when product is non-conforming.
- Familiarization with ISO 9000 and ISO 13485 regulations

- Air Temperatures can range from cold to hot.
- Atmosphere may contain dust, fumes, and odors.
- May include mechanical, electrical, chemical, explosive and radiation hazards.
- Safety shoes (steel toe or composite toe)
- Safety Glasses
- Bump Caps
- Protective Gloves, when performing certain tasks
- Hearing Protection, when required
- Other personal protective equipment as required for certain tasks.
- Be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Be able to push or pull heavy objects up to 250 pounds.
- Be able to work 12-hour shifts.
- Perform repetitive tasks.
- Routinely stand, sit, hear, walk, and talk.
- Reach, climb, bend, kneel, crouch, twist, and balance, sometimes in awkward or tight spaces.
- Have good close vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
