Matrix Design, LLC is currently looking for a Service Engineer to join our growing service department. This person will work alongside the Technical Service Coordinator to prepare for and fulfill service requests. We are looking for an individual with a variety of skills that may include an ability to comprehend FANUC robot programming logic, PLC ladder, mechanical drawings, pneumatic schematics, and electrical schematics, and the ability to diagnose and resolve issues with our customers.

Position Profile
The Service Engineer primarily completes customer service requests. Service requests can be classified as either planned maintenance (preventative) or emergency service (unexpected failures that stop a customers production). We expect to respond to all emergency service requests within 24 hours. As you will be completing most of your work in the field, a Service Engineer can expect a high frequency of travel that is a mixture of local and non-local. Most travel is considered local (within 2 hours by road). International travel is possible but rare.
Depending on the nature of the service request, the Service Engineer could be tasked with, but not limited to the following:
- troubleshooting an unexpected failure in the electrical circuit
- diagnosing a mechanical or electrical problem in the robot or its controller
- replacing parts in a robot or its controller (i.e., motor, belt, reducer, emergency stop unit, etc.)
- performing scheduled lubrication for a robot
- troubleshooting a fault generated by the system
Matrix Design will support you while in the field and will assist you with improving your skillset through our training programs. Other official training opportunities that are available include Fanuc, Allen Bradley, Keyence, Cognex, and more.
Position Responsibilities
- Administration:
- Assist with gathering spare part information.
- Utilize Brightwork to track service
- Record customer service data
- Service/Parts Sales & Marketing:
- Contact existing customers for service opportunities
- Identify sales opportunities while at customer facilities
- Coordination & Execution:
- Assist with scheduling service
- Provide technical support to customers via phone or email
- Prepare for upcoming jobs
- Perform service
- Document the job via the service report
- Performance Metrics:
- Meet service deadlines and targeted job hours
- Receive positive customer reviews

Qualifications
Qualifications
- High School diploma
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as schematics, and maintenance & procedural manuals
- Ability to follow safety standards and guidelines set by our customers and Matrix Design
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in small and/or confined spaces
- Drivers license required
- Ability to travel for up to two weeks at a time
- Ability to write routine reports, procedures, and correspondences
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite
- Must be customer service oriented
- Must be detailed oriented and well organized
- Experience with FANUC is a plus
