Matrix Providers is hiring a Dentist to join our team of talented professionals who provide health care services to our Military Service Members and their families at Maxwell Ambulatory Healthcare Center in Maxwell AFB, Alabama.
- Employment Status: Full-time Independent Contractor.
- Compensation: This is an Independent Contractor position paid at an hourly rate.
- Schedule: Normal hours of operation are Monday through Friday, during the hours of 6:00am-6:00pm, with 1 hour lunch. Excluding federal holidays and Family Days and Down Days. Contractors will not exceed 8 hours per day unless patient care would be compromised/or contract permits. Hours worked beyond the normal duty day must be authorized by the Government Supervisor/COR.
Requirements: The Dentist must have and meet the following:
- Degree: Doctor of Medical in Dentistry (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS).
- Education: Graduate from an accredited dental school approved by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) of the American Dental Association (ADA). Specialty dentists must be a graduate of a dental specialty training program that is accredited by the CODA of the ADA or an accepted equivalent program.
- Certification: Board certification is not required.
- BLS and ACLS are required through the American Heart Association or Red Cross. No online courses accepted.
- Internship/Residency: Completed a clinical post-doctoral program approved by the ADA in the specialty identified in the TO.
- Experience: As required to meet clinical competency requirements. Shall have been employed for at least one (1) year on a full-time basis in the practice of dentistry, or be a recent (1-year) graduate of an accredited, post-graduate dentistry training program. Dental specialists shall have a certificate of training in their specialty area from an ADA-accredited residency training program.
- Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a dentist.
- References: Must be able to provide 2 privileged/credentialed references from dental provider within last 12 months.
Job Summary:
- Performs a full range of professional dental tasks including treatment of commonly encountered dental diseases or dental health problems requiring standard corrective, restorative, or preventive measures such as single and multiple teeth extractions, restoration of simple and compound cavities with standard and prescribed material, taking mouth impressions for crowns, replacement of single tooth replacement to full mouth reconstruction, dentures, and bridges and fitting and inserting the finished appliances, TMD therapy as well as sleep disorders are supported with various modalities to include removable appliances. Ensures correct patient identification through the use of at least two unique patient identifiers and performs site verification, as required. Enters workload production data into the reporting system.
- Peer reviews
- The provider will be required to see a minimum of seven (7) patients per day and a minimum of 35 bookable appointments per week, in accordance with the template manager. This requirement will apply to newly hired providers only after sixty (60) days of work has been completed.
- Conducts military unique dental examinations of personnel with special standards of dental care.
- Manages clinical or administrative programs related to dentistry or patient care.
