Math Tutor

ROLE

Matrix Tutors is looking for a SAT Tutor, who is seeking to work with an innovative tutoring company focusing on individualized learning personal growth.

The Tutor will be tutoring high school students in SAT, helping them learn concepts, prepare for tests, and train their minds on how to think through critical thinking skills.

This is a part time, Contractor role. The tutoring sessions are 1.5 hours each ($60 per session), with a maximum of 2 tutoring sessions a day. As a Matrix Tutor, you will be motivating students, and instilling limitless belief into them so that they can reach their highest potential.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Provide instruction to students in SAT Tutoring
• Lead students to not only master their grade levels but advance students beyond them
• Help students improve time management, focus, and problem solving ability
• Identify focus areas for student improvement
• Create tailored curriculum plans for students
• Schedule student sessions and issue homework
• Communicate responsibly and professionally with parents of students.
• Meet once per week with the Matrix Tutors team of tutors and emotional intelligence department.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• Bachelors Degree or pursuing Masters degree in Education.
• 3 years of experience with Math tutoring, classroom education, or exam proctoring
• 1 year of Curriculum Development (lesson plans, etc.) skills.
• High emotional intelligence and sound ethical judgment
• Ability to visually assess students’ attention and response, listening, and responding to their unique learning styles.
• Experienced in Online Learning Systems (taught in virtual classrooms, etc.)
• Flexibility in schedule and availability through the typical school year.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE

• 1 years experience volunteering for charitable causes
• Experience working in private schools
• PhD level of education
• Previous teacher
