About this role:
MATTE is looking for an Art Director to join it’s fast-growing Creative department at our Los Angeles location. The Art Director will be a key member of our Creative team, helping to craft stories, concepts, and build brands through high-level campaign strategy and execution. The Art Director reports to the Associate Creative Director and works closely with the full Creative, Client, and Production teams. The Art Director will be responsible for:
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Creative Directors and Senior Art Directors to conceptualize execute innovative designs across all digital materials (marketing collateral, emails, social media assets, web pages, etc).
- Concept, develop, execute and visuals for clients and across all creative channels.
- Pull swipe and present to teammates to elaborate and explain your artistic vision
- Partner and collaborate with other departments to refine and develop clients' vision through all outlets.
- Collaborate with strategists, writers, producers, coders etc to develop thoughtful and impactful, purpose-based creative solutions and ideas for a wide range of clients.
- Maintains a knowledge of, and stays up to date on, latest industry technology, trends and techniques
- Work with client specific brand guidelines and bring projects from concept through production
- Collaborate with digital UX, producers and developers to extend brand concepts to experiences
- Asset Creation: Work with an internal team to create marketing assets on time and within budget.
- Create and maintain consistent, high level visuals, standards and specifications.
Quality Control
- Collaborate with the Creative teams to develop thoughtful and impactful, purpose-based creative solutions and ideas for both the department and for a wide range of clients.
- Work with client specific brand guidelines and bring projects from concept through production

- Work strategically and in partnership with internal teams to build, maintain, and improve internal and external processes, workflows, systems, and policies
- Coach design staff to maximize performance and ensure project quality.
Salary: $95,000-$110,000/annum
What you will bring:
- 5 years experience within a similar role, preferably with experience in an entertainment or agency environment
- Excels at client relationship management and team management
- Strong work ethic and sense of project ownership
- Experience in design, editing and motion graphics for (but not limited to) titles, end cards, branding elements, lower thirds.
- Approachable, collaborative, results-oriented, problem-solver who can both provide and take direction well.
- Has a great network of vendors and industry connections
- Experience with Figma or Sanity is a plus
- Detail-focused design skills
