POSITION SUMMARY
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops new ink products for specific applications.
- Conducts testing to verify ink formulas meet application requirements.
- Solves related manufacturing problems and support the manufacturing function.
- Communicates with customers, both internal and external, to ensure overall satisfaction and potential problem solving.
- Analyzes and suggests methods to reduce manufacturing costs.
- Provides status reports on project status with regards to ink development.
- Selects materials and ingredients to allow for manufacture of ink at lowest practical cost
- Maintains up-to-date lab notebooks detailing specific project work.
- Provides information and feedback on environmental, safety and health related questions as needed about ink and ink-related products.
- Completes necessary analysis in a timely fashion, focusing on practical research that will drive commercial outcomes for the company.
- Communicates progress and results with team members and projects in a timely fashion.
- Additional duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related field
- Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) preferred
- 6 years of previous chemist experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Occasional travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
- High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
- Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)
- Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts
- Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients
- Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
- Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management
- Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
