The major function of this position is:
To provide exemplary leadership to the Warehouse team, striving for excellence in customer satisfaction and operational efficiencies. Set the tone and objectives of the team in terms of customer service, team performance and safety. Motivate the team to be their best by challenging and developing them as individuals as well as a team. Provide them with the tools they need to achieve team goals in terms of accuracy and efficiency.
Essential Duties:
* Supervise and support the team with the daily activities of the warehouse including the receipt and put away of all materials, processing orders, as well as preparing outbound shipments. Work to provide customers 100% satisfaction on all orders processed.
* Plan staffing to ensure product is received/put away and orders are processed in accordance with designated cut-off times, quality standards and standard operating KPIs.
* Set service and productivity KPI's with the Warehouse Manager. Communicate these expectations to the team, provide feedback and coaching when we miss our service deadlines and celebrate our successes when we achieve them.
* Conduct regular department meetings to communicate new developments, encourage employee feedback, coordinate activities, discuss process improvements, and modify procedures.
* Assist in SAP oversight monitoring including but not limited to open warehouse documents. Partner with the Warehouse Manager to account for all US90 inventory including velocity review, slotting maintenance, and cycle counting activities.
* Oversee all US90 fulfillment activities. Ensure inventory reconciliations and cleanup activities are completed on a monthly basis.
* Partner with logistics and planning teams to coordinate all shipments into and from the Peoria DC, including international DC shipments.
* Approve & track vacation, attendance, tardiness and employee performance issues. Partner with HR to proactively address issues with the team.
* Collaborate with the Warehouse Manager and customers to develop processes to ensure we are exceeding expectations in terms of delivery time, quality and communication.
* Facilitate real-time root cause problem solving and ensure communication to all internal teams regarding critical issues impacting the department's performance.
* Responsible for recruitment and onboarding of new employees.
* Oversee all new hire training with support of the team leads, clearly outlining department expectations and standards.
* Ensure all training materials are in compliance and are accurately documented and maintained.
* Maintain all areas/equipment/products in a neat, orderly manner to promote a clean, organized, effectively spaced workplace that people enjoy being in. This includes organizing preventative maintenance and setup of charging stations for wireless printers, RF scanners, and material handling equipment, as well as troubleshooting and feedback to IT and upper management on any issues we are facing.
* Assure compliance with company and governmental standards and regulations of safety, sanitation and housekeeping within the designated area.
* Perform all other duties as requested or required.
Desired Qualifications:
As a guide, indicated below is the preferred education and experience for this position:
Minimum of 3 years of leadership in a warehouse environment. Inventory management and consumer product movement expertise preferred. Prior experience with material handling equipment is strongly preferred.
