The Warehouse Manager II is responsible for directing warehouse activities for the company either personally or with a team of employees.
What your day may look like
- Establishes operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials and keeping warehouse inventory current for two locations.
- Inspects physical condition of warehouse, equipment and vehicles.
- Prepares work orders for repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipment and vehicles.
- Maintains monthly truck reports.
- Hires and trains necessary s to operate the facility (excluding sales staff).
- Works with department heads to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with activities of other functions such as production, sales, records control, purchasing and compliance.
- Directs salvage of damaged or used material.
- Participates in planning personnel safety and plant protection activities (i.e. Safety Data Sheets) to comply with OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
- Handles walk‑in sales and works with supplier's representatives.
- Ensures that all drivers conform to D.O.T. regulations.
- Provides back‑up to truck drivers and to secretary of location when necessary.
- Other work-related duties as assigned by leader.
- Reliable and regular attendance is expected.
Education and experience needed for this position
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Two years of warehouse work experience is required.
- Leadership experience is preferred.
- Agricultural experience is preferred.

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Written and verbal communication skills.

Your work environment and the physical aspects of the job

The work environment for this position is that of a typical warehouse and distribution environment where the noise level is usually moderate to loud and occasionally very loud. In this position, the employee regularly works near moving equipment/mechanical parts and could be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, chemical and biological hazards and a risk of electrical shock. This position requires you to use your hands for many different tasks and to talk, hear, walk, stand and sit. You will be regularly required to lift or move up to 100 pounds.
