Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and compose RFP/bid specifications in a manner that internal customer’s needs are addressed
• Analyze RFP/bid responses to determine the most responsive and responsible supplier to optimize total cost of ownership for Maverik
• Prepare supporting reports/spreadsheets in order to track actual cost reductions and ROI
• Negotiate with qualified suppliers to obtain the maximum overall benefit to Maverik
• Negotiate new procurement agreements and any changes to existing supplier contracts
• Establishes collaborative relationships with key suppliers and establishes collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders
• Source qualified suppliers in support of internal customer requirements and proactively manage supplier’s performance
• Mentor others in the Procurement Department to help them be successful and grow within Maverik
• Assists Sr. Procurement Manager in developing a strategy
• Additional responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications: Education

• A Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management or Business-related field; (MBA preferred)

Qualifications: Experience

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in vendor management and high-value procurement initiatives or an equivalent combination of education and industry experience

Qualifications: Competencies

• CPSM or CPSD Certification required
• Proven skill and knowledge in RFx’s and Contracting
• Demonstrated people leadership skills including building strong relations, committing to the growth of individuals on the team and leading by example
• Experience running strategic projects, representing Maverik to external constituencies
• An ability to adapt to changing circumstances, tasks, responsibilities, and people to achieve optimum results
• A record of looking beyond the obvious to identify the root cause and simplify complicated processes and find ways to improve work processes and select the best possible option
• A track record of Leveraging others appropriately and overcoming unexpected obstacles during execution while utilizing appropriate metrics to measure progress
