Maverik is seeking a Carrier Manager who is experienced in sales/account management and the transportation industry. This individual will be responsible for developing and maintaining carrier relationships, meeting with representatives, and managing carrier rates, lane bids, and rate files while overseeing Maverik's unloading policies and complying and monitoring driver training records.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain carrier relationships to foster mutually beneficial goals, including managing carrier agreements with Maverik Logistics, including traveling to all areas within Maverik’s footprint
- Meet with carrier representatives to discuss carrier performance, resolve issues, and review current practices
- Oversee Maverik’s unloading policies and ensure that Drivers are complying with the carrier’s processes, and monitor training records
- Manage carrier rates, lane bids, and maintain rate file
- Work closely with the fuel supply team on account authorization using our fuel software (i.e. Fuel Lift)
- Proactively communicate any disruptions or workload influxes to the appropriate parties
- Monitor (annually) all current carrier certificates to ensure compliance and work with carriers on any changes in insurance requirements
- Work with the Loss Prevention team on any recovery efforts for product or property damage
- Continuously improve carrier management processes, specifically during busy seasons
- Overnight travel is required- 50-60% of travel required the first year, with frequency likely to reduce once relationships established

Qualifications: Education
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or equivalent experience preferred
Qualifications: Experience
- 3 yrs experience in Sales/Account Management, Transportation/Logistics
- Proficient in Microsoft Office

- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including strong listening skills
- Establish and maintain effective customer relationships
- Practice operating independently without the need for continuous oversight or direction
- A history of knowing how to effectively plan your time by knowing when and where to spend it
