We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shipping Supervisor to join our team. The Shipping Supervisor will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and timely shipment of our products to customers while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the shipping department, including scheduling, staffing, and workflow management.
- Coordinate with production, logistics, and customer service teams to prioritize orders and meet shipping deadlines.
- Prepare shipping documents, labels, and packaging materials accurately and in compliance with customer specifications and regulatory standards.
- Supervise loading and unloading operations, ensuring the safe handling and secure packaging of finished products for transportation.
- Maintain inventory accuracy and organize storage areas to optimize space utilization and facilitate efficient order picking and staging.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to promote a safe working environment and prevent accidents or injuries.
- Conduct regular inspections of shipping equipment and facilities, addressing any maintenance or repair needs promptly.
- Train and mentor shipping department staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Monitor shipping performance metrics, analyze data, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse management, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of shipping processes, including packaging, labeling, and transportation regulations.
- Experience with UPS Worldship and Fedex shipping experience required.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality and accuracy in all aspects of work.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including coaching, team building, and conflict resolution skills.
- Forklift certification and experience operating material handling equipment preferred.
