What are the responsibilities and job description for the Arizona Licensed Health Aide- PDN position at Maxim Healthcare Services?
The Arizona Licensed Health Aide (LHA) provides services to a patient who is a family member in their places of residence and/or community that includes health maintenance activities, support for activities of daily living, personal care services and homemaker services. These services are provided according to the patient’s care plan.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide medication administration
- Provide tracheostomy care
- Provide enteral care and therapy
- Provide nursing assistant care, these may include; Transferring, positioning and ambulation, Feeding, Personal Care (including pericare, dressing, oral care, bathing, catheter care), range of motion, vital signs, blood pressure, and documentation and reporting of abnormal vital signs or blood pressure
- Arrives at the client’s home on time and leaves when shift schedule is complete
- Performs all duties in an accurate and timely manner
- Maintains confidentiality of all patient information, in accordance with HIPAA standards
- Safeguards the patient from infection by practicing appropriate infection control procedures including but not limited to universal precautions
- Notifies the office of any abnormal findings or changes in the client’s condition.
- Effectively communicates with the office staff
- Provides requirements-related information in a timely fashion (examples; annual in-service requirements, Proof of CPR certification, etc.)
- Performs other duties as assigned/necessary
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Must successfully complete agency Licensed Health Aide training program
- Must obtain and maintain an active Licensed Health Aide licensure with the Arizona Board of Nursing
- Must adhere to time and attendance policies
- Ability to complete tasks in a professional manner and adhere to policies regarding professionalism and boundaries
- Must demonstrate a compassionate nature and possess strong interpersonal skills
- Computer skills required
- Proficient in reading and writing
- Required trainings as assigned by home health agency
- Must have a relationship to the patient that meets the definition of “family member” in Arizona Nurse Practice Act R4-19-101. “Family Member”, means a licensed health aide (LHA) who is an adult (at least 18 years old) and has the following relationship with the LHA’s one patient: 1. spouse, 2. children/step children, 3. son/daughter-in-law, 4. grandchildren, 5. siblings /step siblings, 6. parents /step parents/adoptive parents, 7. grandparents, 8. mother/father-in-law, 9. brother/sister-in-law, or 10. legal guardian.
