Maximus is currently hiring for a Training Specialist to provide training for new hire RN classes for the Independent Assessor project. The incumbent evaluates training effectiveness and adapts methods and materials accordingly. The incumbent works independently and/or collaborates with clinical team leaders and clinical training supervisors to develop new training and models of delivery.
**This is a full time, remote position that can be located anywhere in the United States
About the New York Independent Assessor (NYIA):
The New York Independent Assessor (NYIA) program assesses people who have chronic illnesses or disabilities for their eligibility for community based long term services and supports and assists them to enroll in Managed Long Term Care health plans.
Education and Experience Requirements
Primary Responsibilities:
Provides training to Nurse Evaluators, Regional Nurse Managers, and QA staff to ensure that quality actions are incorporated into their daily practice
Provides one on one Nurse Evaluator training and technology issues as needed
Researches and analyzes cases for outliers
May participate in training and onboarding clinical and non-clinical staff who are joining the Nurse Training Department
Develops and teaches training modules for IA educational activities and New Hire Orientation
Communicates regularly with Regional Nurse Managers (RNMs) regarding new Nurse Evaluators orientation and competency status at the direction of the Training Supervisor
Applies principles of adult learning to plan & conduct educational sessions to promote staff development, student competence & positive outcomes
Provides administrative support and class management during orientation.
Develops / completes reports that track and trend activities and outcomes
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree Required
Minimum of 2 years training experience in a corporate/health related setting
Highly proficient technical skills (word processing, multimedia training platforms, Microsoft Office suite, database software, etc.)
Ability to quickly learn and utilize new programs
Knowledge of various training platforms and methods
Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives
Ability to design and implement effective training, then evaluate for effectiveness
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate with a diverse range of individuals
Strong presentation skills
Organized and analytical with attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as a member of the team
Home Office Requirements:
