Associate General Counsel

Responsibilities

MaxLinear is seeking an Associate General Counsel who is an internationally savvy, commercial and  technology transactions attorney to join our growing team. In this role, you will focus on the following:

• Lead customer facing global business transactions and other technology, IP, and commercial transactions including purchase and sale agreements, licensing and development agreements, collaboration agreements, distributor agreements, and NRE agreements
• Partner with business stakeholders at all levels of the organization to drive customer engagements, commercial transactions, and key projects and programs
• Negotiate and draft purchasing / vendor agreements and other commercial transactions
• A key leader in driving transactional operations by building processes, policies, and practices to improve day-to-day efficiency and effectiveness
• Adhere to MaxLinear’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics

Compensation and Benefits

MaxLinear has a Total Compensation philosophy which includes base salary and annual discretionary bonus eligibility and many positions also include stock-based compensation.

MaxLinear expects to offer a starting base salary within the range of:  $220,000 to $275,000 Annually

The actual starting base salary will be determined by the match to certain role-related criteria such as educational degree(s) or equivalent, relevant work experience, skillset needed for the role, and geographic location; this is not an all-inclusive list as some roles may require unique skills or experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in technology, commercial, and licensing transactions, with working knowledge of applicable compliance / regulatory, intellectual property, and U.S. public company matters
• Active member in good standing of the California Bar (or eligible to practice as a CA registered in-house counsel)
• Legal experience at a nationally recognized law firm
• Ability to recognize and weigh business and legal risks, think strategically and advance legally sound, reasoned, and practical solutions in the context of business goals
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
• In house, management, and Semiconductor experience are all plusses
• Stellar integrity, excellent judgment, and ability to prioritize
• Ability to influence a diverse set of stakeholders and drive to solutions 
• Efficient, action oriented, "roll up your sleeves" style with and a strong sense of ownership
• J.D. degree 10 years of experience
